Sewing Machine Woes

I couldn't bear to talk about it yesterday, because it was too painful. I wanted to spend all of Friday sewing the bloody neckers for beavers. I wanted to, I really did. I'm really close to being done. I just need to finish with the bias tape around the outer edge, then quickly sew the group badge on.

Pizza in the Morning

I made pizza for brunch this morning before running off to work. I went with Jim Lahey's recipie for potato pizza as done by Smitten Kitchen. It was simple and tasty. I only let it rise once for a little over an hour, because that's the time I had, and I used a mixed bag of little potatoes because that's what I had. The purple potatoes really gave it a nice little hit of colour.

We are the beaver

"We are the beaver, we got cute little webbed feet

Yeah, we are the beaver, it's bark we like to eat

Yeah, we are the beaver, a nickel we complete.

Yeah, we are the beaver, we are the beaver, we are the beaver."

Meh heh eh heh heh

I consider myself a bit of a JOAT when it comes to crafts. I don't mean to say I can do everything, but being a Jill-of-Lots-of-Trades or Jill-of-Many-Trades, don't have it's own special acronym.

Today, I wanted to tell you more about why I wanted to start this blog. I covered the main one in my first post, but there are a few other reasons as well.

Summer Lovin

"Had me a blast
Summer lovin' happened so fast!"

But there's no love between my pasty skin and the summer sun. I am pure European. I am not alabaster, ivory, fair, milky or snowy. I am a pallid and pasty pale. I don't tan I burn. Once I've burned I do turn a different shade. I'm merely pale instead of pasty pale.

You may be wondering why I bring this up on a blog about crafts. The answer is simple: Tan lines.
